## What happens

Live music accompanies the lighting, with a visit from Santa. The Gig Harbor Waterfront Alliance provides complimentary cookies and cocoa at the event.

## Good to know

The Alliance lists the tree-lighting gathering from 4:30 to 6:30pm; it does not give a separate countdown time. The [Gig Harbor Lighted Boat Parade](https://tacomairl.com/events/gig-harbor-lighted-boat-parade-2026/) follows on another December weekend, with Skansie Brothers Park among the shore viewing locations.

**Next year:** the Waterfront Alliance posts its holiday program at Holidays in the Harbor.
