Who it suits: Families, pumpkin carvers, and anyone willing to commit to boots. Dog rules differ farm by farm and three of these farms turn them away, so read your entry before you load the dog in the car. Weekdays are quieter at every farm here.
Duration estimate: An hour or two at one farm. The free-entry patches open at 2 or 3pm on weekdays; the ticketed festivals are all-day.
Cost basis: Free to walk in at Spooner, Picha and Sidhu. A corn maze runs $6 to $12 on top at most of them. A ticketed day is $19.27 online at Knutson, $24 to $33 at Maris Farms. The pumpkin is extra everywhere.
Getting around: You need a car. These are working farms outside the city, up SR 162 through the valley and on toward Buckley and Enumclaw. Maris Farms lists parking as free. Harbor Farms is across the Narrows, and you pay to park and to get in.

Every October somebody asks which patch to go to, and the answer splits two ways. Walk into a field, pay for one good pumpkin, get home before somebody melts down. Or buy a ticket and make a day of it.

Both are fine. They just cost different amounts of money.

Here is what nine patches between Puyallup and Enumclaw actually charge, and which days several of them are shut. Checked October 14. Prices and hours move between now and Halloween, so look again before you drive out.

Mud is the default. Boots, not sneakers.

## Three that will trip you up

**Knutson is shut every Monday.** Not closing early. Closed. Don't plan a Monday in Sumner.

**Maris is shut to the public on October 14, 21 and 28.** School field trip days. Thursdays the 15th and 22nd it opens at 1pm instead.

**Harbor Farms sells out.** As of October 14 every session through the 23rd was gone. The 17th, 18th, 24th and 25th still had openings. Maris caps its headcount and says a date that's gone online won't be at the gate.

## The dog question

Three farms say no. Spooner ("Please, no pets allowed"), Knutson, whose own website just says SORRY, and Old McDebbie's in Spanaway, which bans all pets because of its own animals.

Picha, Double R and Maris take leashed dogs. Maris has you register at the booth when you arrive, and no dogs in the Haunted Woods. Thomasson takes dogs anywhere on the farm, on a leash, registered at the ticket booth.

Sterino and Sidhu don't say either way. Assume no until you ask.

## Spooner Farms, Puyallup

Sixth generation, farming the valley since 1882. More than fifty varieties of pumpkin, gourd, squash and corn, all of it their own.

Open October 1 through October 31, 9am to 6pm. No entry fee.

The maze is where the money is. Five acres, more than three miles of path, $12 for adults and $10 for ages 3 to 12. It runs on its own clock and closes at 5:30pm, half an hour before the patch does. Children 12 and under have to be with an adult.

Everything else you can walk into. Becky's Animal Barn, Pumpkin Pete's Play Town, the slingshots, duck races, roasted corn, caramel apples. Beer garden Friday through Sunday.

No dogs. Cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and an ATM on site. No checks.

9710 State Route 162 E., Puyallup. 253-840-2059.

## Picha Farms, Puyallup

No admission fee. Nine acres, more than twenty-five varieties, wheelbarrows by the gate.

The maze is five acres and this year answers eight trivia questions about the country's 250th birthday. The answers are posted along the way.

Maze $8, free for 3 and under. Hayride $5, free for 2 and under. Slingshot $2 a shot, and $5 off your pumpkin if you hit the target. Kiddie train $2.

October 3 to 30. Weekends 10am to 6pm, weekdays 3pm to 6pm. The maze stops letting people in at 5:30pm.

Bluegrass every weekend in October, noon to 4pm. Characters on Saturdays from 1pm to 3pm: Spider-Man on the 17th, Rumi on the 24th.

One oddity. Their website keeps the dog policy inside an HTML comment, where nobody visiting can read it. SouthSoundTalk says leashed dogs are welcome, just not in the maze or on the hayride. If the dog is why you're going, phone them.

The party tent rents for $60 per two hours.

6502 52nd St. E., a block off River Road at the 66th Avenue E. bridge. 253-841-4443.

## Double R Farms, Puyallup

Third generation, formerly Richen Farms. Says it has the largest selection of pumpkins in the valley.

Five-acre maze, three slingshots, tractor hay rides on weekends when the weather allows. Leashed dogs welcome if you clean up after them.

The farm doesn't post 2026 dates, hours or patch prices. The pages list a $6 maze, a $1 hay ride and a $1 slingshot, then tell you to phone for current prices. Lumberjack Popcorn Company runs the concessions the first weekend in October.

Ring before you set out.

5820 44th St. E., Puyallup. 253-227-5385.

## Sterino Farms, Puyallup

A U-pick patch next to a produce market that's open daily 8am to 6pm, which makes this the easiest farm on the list to spend an hour in.

Hay rides $5, corn maze $10, both free for 5 and under. Hay rides Fridays 2pm to 6pm, weekends 10am to 6pm. Maze daily 9am to 5pm.

Then it gets good after dark. The night maze is listed for October 2 and 3, 9 and 10, and 16 and 17. Market open until 8pm, maze until 10pm, last entry 9:20pm.

One thing to know before you plan around that: the events page never says which year it's describing. The dates do fall on 2026 Fridays and Saturdays. Call the market.

No page states an entry fee or a dog policy.

Main farm 6116 52nd St. E. Produce stand 6006 52nd St. E. 253-922-8945.

## Sidhu Farms, Puyallup

Entry is free, and so are the pumpkins, the farm stand and the homemade Indian food at the counter. You buy a wristband only for the attractions, and it covers the maze, hay rides, a bouncy house and kids' play area, and five pumpkin slingshots. Buying them one at a time costs more.

The band is $18 adult and $16 for ages 4 to 16 on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. $17 and $15 on a weekday. Kids 3 and under are free.

Watch this one. The website is still running its 2025 season, Lochness Monster maze and all, and the map on the visit page points to 15018 96th St. E. SouthSoundTalk lists 9809 SR 162 E. Day-to-day updates go up on Facebook.

So check Facebook before you leave. That's the only current address we could find.

## Knutson Farms, Sumner

October 3 to 31, 10am to 6pm. Closed every Monday.

General admission is $16, which becomes $19.27 online once the ticket fee goes on, and $20.94 at the gate. Kids 2 and under are free. Admission covers about 25 things across a working farm. Apple cannons ($10 for 12 shots), gem mining and the sluice are extra. Combos start at $22.99, the Super Combo is $28.99, and a Pumpkin Pass good on any open day is $49.99 before fees.

No pets.

Fireworks on October 10, 17 and 24. The farm stays open until 8pm for a 7:30pm show, and you can reserve a fire pit inside the corn maze for those Saturdays. October 31 is a trick-or-treat Farm Fest, included with admission.

This is an all-day trip, not a quick one.

16406 78th St. E., Sumner. 253-863-5107.

## Maris Farms, Buckley

The longest drive on the list, and the farm that shuts its gate most often.

Fall Fest runs September 26 through October 31. Closed to the public on Wednesdays, October 14, 21 and 28. Thursdays the 15th and 22nd, field trips run in the morning and the farm opens to everyone at 1pm.

Admission is $24 online on a weekday and $33 online on a weekend, ages 3 and up. Kids 2 and under free. The farm says online beats the gate and won't say what the gate costs. The pumpkin patch, goat feeding, apple blasters and gem mining are all extra, and there's no published price by the pound for the Fall Fest patch.

Most of the property comes with admission, including the Mt. Mattercorn Mega Slide, which has a 42-inch minimum height. Duck and pig races, cow train, animal barn, corn maze, ropes course, tube slides.

The Haunted Woods is a separate ticket starting at $45. Half a mile, and the farm says it isn't for anyone under 12.

Leashed, well-socialized dogs are welcome, once you register them at the booth. Not in the Haunted Woods.

They cap how many people come in and they sell out. Parking is free, bring your own food, and it's open rain or shine.

25001 Sumner-Buckley Hwy. The parking entrance is that address. Mailing address is 24919.

## Thomasson Family Farm, Enumclaw

The furthest drive, about an hour, and worth it if the mega slide is the point.

Ten acres of patch. A five-acre corn maze, mega slide, farm animals, giant games, a fairy-tale trail, zip lines, life-size foosball. Cathy's Kitchen does pizza and hot sandwiches. Kettle corn, mini donuts, an ice cream parlor on weekends.

Online admission is $18.50 on a weekday and $23 on a weekend. The booth charges $22 and $26. Kids 2 and under free. Online tickets have to be bought at least 24 hours ahead, so take that price and skip the booth.

The farm can't agree with itself about the season. One page says September 26 to October 30. Another says October 1 through the 31st, closing at 1pm that day. Hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm. Phone ahead.

Dogs are welcome anywhere on the farm, on a leash, registered at the booth. That's the farm's own wording, and it's different from the roundup that lists them as patch-only.

38223 236th Ave. SE, Enumclaw.

## Harbor Farms, Gig Harbor

Across the water, and you book it.

Two-hour sessions at 10am, 1pm and 4pm, weekends through October 25. $10 for adults and children, under 2 free. That covers the patch, the goats and chickens, a western-town play area, lawn games and the photo spots. The barrel ride, apple slingshot and the pumpkins themselves are extra. No food for sale, so bring a picnic.

If you only want a pumpkin, they sell them without a reservation on Fridays the 16th and 23rd, 4 to 7pm.

7725 92nd St. NW. This is a new location for the farm.

## Two more worth a phone call

**McMillin Farm Collective, Puyallup** is open and running a patch with a corn maze, a product stand and a brewery on site at 12517 WA-162. Its own pages don't agree on hours, one saying the stand runs Wednesday to Sunday 9am to 5pm.

**Alderbrook Farms, Sumner** turns up on roundup lists with pumpkins priced by size. There is no site we could reach to confirm a single detail, so take the address and hours you were handed and ask.

## Which maze

Spooner's is the big one. Five acres, more than three miles of path, and the most expensive ticket here at $12.

Picha's is five acres with eight trivia answers posted inside. Good for a kid who can follow a path.

Double R's is five acres, if anybody will tell you the price.

Sterino's runs after dark on October 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17, last entry 9:20pm. Leave small kids at home for that one.

Maris's maze comes with the day ticket, and the haunted half-mile next to it is not for under-12s. Knutson's is where the fire pits are on fireworks nights.

## If you only want a pumpkin

Picha has wheelbarrows and nine acres. Double R claims the largest selection in the valley. Harbor Farms sells pumpkins on Friday evenings with no ticket and no booking.

Go early. The good ones go first, and so does the mud.

Not a pumpkin patch: **Old McDebbie's Farm and Jim's U-Fish in Spanaway**. It's an animal farm and a fishing pond, $14 for adults and $12 for ages 3 to 17, free under 3, Friday to Sunday 10am to 6pm. No pets anywhere on the property.

**The Northwest Glass Pumpkin Patch** travels to six sites a year and admission is free. The last 2026 stop near here is Saturday October 17, 9am to 3pm at Pioneer Park Pavilion, 330 S. Meridian in Puyallup.

If Saturday turns out wet after all, use the [rainy-day plan](https://tacomairl.com/guides/rainy-fall-day/). If it's dry, the [sunny-day route](https://tacomairl.com/guides/sunny-fall-day/) works better on another weekend.
