About Mary Mann

Mary Mann is a Tacoma painter and muralist. Her studio paintings use trees and forest edges as metaphors for family, resilience and community, built from her own photographs and memories of Pacific Northwest forests and shorelines.

She trained at the Colorado Institute of Art and at Bates Technical College, and has made grant-funded murals around Tacoma, often with high school students taking part. Her largest public work, The Ripple Effect, covers the Schuster Parkway underpass beside the Chinese Reconciliation Park.
