Why go
It’s Fort Nisqually’s big summer event. The fort fills with living historians acting out the arrival of a Hudson’s Bay Company fur brigade.
What happens
Angus McDonald’s convoy arrives, and trappers and traders compete in contests of strength and endurance. Visitors can try period skills with living historians (“Engage for the Day”), barter for a Hudson’s Bay contract, sample food, watch artisan demos and Punch and Judy shows, and listen to live music. In 2026 there were Hawaiian dances on Sunday by the Pacific Ohana Foundation.
Good to know
Both days ran 11am to 5pm, with tickets sold through the museum. We didn’t find 2026 prices.
Next year: a weekend in mid-July. Watch Parks Tacoma’s Fort Nisqually events page.
