Why go

The rare Halloween outing that costs nothing and sets its own hours: stroll Fircrest’s streets and judge other people’s yard displays, no ticket required.

What happens

Residents build street-visible scarecrows, skeletons, or both for a month-long community display. The city publishes a map and route of registered homes on October 17 for self-guided tours; judging and People’s Choice ballots close October 29, with winners announced October 30. Displays are PG-rated by rule.

Good to know

Viewing is free and self-paced; paper maps are available at the Fircrest Community Center. Contest entry is residents-only and registration closed October 9, so this listing is for viewers, not entrants.
