Why go
Every 5K finisher gets a pumpkin pie, and the Tacoma City Marathon Association encourages Thanksgiving costumes and accessories. The 5K course is USATF certified.
What happens
Thursday, November 26. The 5K run or walk starts at 9am from Fleet Feet Tacoma in the Proctor District, and the kids 1K starts at 10:15am. Registration includes a 5K medal or a 1K finisher’s ribbon and a bib; the 5K also includes a T-shirt, and the race asks for shirt orders by November 12. Parents running with a child in the 1K don’t need to register.
Good to know
The 5K price rises on November 15 and again for November 25–26, and a small online transaction fee applies. The kids 1K is $10 for ages 12 and under. Team discounts are $5 off for four, $10 off for ten and $15 off for fifteen. Packet pickup is Wednesday, November 25, noon–6:30pm at Ruston Waterfront Market, 5101 Yacht Club Rd, or race morning from 7:30 to 8:45am at the start line. Non-perishable food donations are collected at gear check for the Northwest Tacoma Nourish Food Bank, and a portion of proceeds goes to the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County.
