Why go
Glass is one of the things Tacoma is known for, and this is the day local glass artists set up right outside the museum. Admission to the museum is free too.
What happens
Artist and food booths fill the Museum Plaza. Inside, there are glassmaking demonstrations and hands-on activities. In 2026, visiting artist Dan Friday worked in the Hot Shop as part of the IN THE SPIRIT festival happening the same day.
Good to know
The museum’s garage has limited space during its renovation, so check its parking options first.
Next year: the museum called 2026 “the return of Glass Fest Northwest,” so it isn’t guaranteed every year. Check the museum’s site in early summer.
