Why go
Halloween morning, spent looking at actual birds instead of trick-or-treat candy. The Park Guide covers the folklore and the superstitions that grew up around the species you’re likely to see.
What happens
Saturday, October 31, 9am to 11am, meeting at the Point Defiance Lodge. Free, and drop-ins are welcome — no sign-up needed.
Good to know
Costumes are encouraged, not required. Bring your own binoculars; the guides have extras to borrow. The walk covers unpaved, uneven trail for up to two miles, so dress accordingly.
