Why go

The Hot Shop is usually a glassblowing stage. For one evening it belongs to the veterans who learned the craft in the museum’s Hot Shop Heroes program.

What happens

In the Hot Shop. A color guard opens the program, the Path with Art Veterans Choir sings, and Hot Shop Heroes participants receive certificates and commemorative glass coins. Saul Velez, a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran and glass artist, speaks at 6pm.

Good to know

RSVP through the museum’s Eventbrite page. Veterans, active-duty military and their families also get free museum admission all day. Other daytime visitors pay regular admission, $18 for adults while the galleries are under renovation.
